The best known are likely their employments in the tweeters of loudspeakers, in shock absorbers (eg in the systems Magnetic Selective Ride Control - General Motors, Magna Ride - Ferrari, Magnetic Ride - Audi), in refrigeration systems, in the treatment of tumors by hyperthermia (magnetocaloric effect), in semi-active dampers in construction and for sealing purposes, for example in computer hard disks and roller bearings (magnetic fluid seals from vacuum to air, of gas to be sealed and sealed liquids). Moreover, especially their suitability as extremely durable, yet flexible carriers must be emphasized.

In the consequence of a novel design of electrical power, which is gained during the movement of a car from its own vibrations, the MDT magnetic fluid is now also used in a special configuration of coils and magnets to minimize the friction losses.

For such applications special properties are required, especially cold resistance. The MDT-developed Nano Ferro Fluids remain low-viscous and highly magnetizable even at temperatures between -30 and -40 ° C.

Wherever attenuation of abrupt vibrations and movements is important, magnetizable oils are increasingly being recognized for their relevance because they are able to spread the opposite states of matter from solid and liquid, thus ensuring the highest degree of flexible reactivity. In such applications, in particular, heat resistance of the fluids used is required. The magnetizable oils of MDT are first-rate, temperature-resistant systems and therefore also applicable under extreme conditions for damping purposes. So they are also functioning well as nano magnetic grease.
